Compare the set as a whole
Look for abrupt changes between clean-shaven, short-beard and long-beard images. A little variation can be understandable, but the main picture should not leave someone guessing what you look like now.
Make a focused update
- Take a new clear portrait in even light.
- Check the beard's detail without heavy sharpening.
- Remove near-duplicate older versions.
- Keep only supporting pictures that still feel representative.
A recent hiking photo with a short beard can work beside a current portrait if the overall appearance is consistent. A much older, dramatically different image may create unnecessary confusion.
Keep edits honest
Avoid digitally filling gaps or changing the beard line beyond ordinary presentation. For generated photos, reject outputs that invent facial hair or alter your jaw. The useful standard is whether someone would recognise you comfortably, not whether every hair looks artificially perfect.
