Give a small selection
Choose a few recent candidates and show them at phone size. Explain the role you need to fill, such as a main portrait or an activity picture.
Ask practical questions
- Which looks most like me now?
- Which expression feels most natural?
- What distracts you from my face?
- Which picture adds something the others do not?
If a friend prefers a dramatic travel shot, ask whether it works as a main portrait or simply as a memorable photograph. Those are different judgements.
Keep the decision yours
Use feedback to identify patterns, not to create a version of yourself you dislike. One person's preference is not a universal result. Choose pictures you feel comfortable publishing and can explain honestly, then make a focused update instead of endlessly reopening the whole selection.
