Use a simple setup
Face a broad lamp or a well-lit area rather than standing directly under a ceiling spotlight. Keep the background tidy and avoid mixing several strong light colours on your face.
Take a controlled series
- Support the phone or ask someone to hold it steadily.
- Keep your movements small during each frame.
- Check eye sharpness immediately.
- Compare with a brighter position in the same room.
A cosy restaurant may look pleasant in person while producing a noisy, blurred portrait. The entrance or a brighter wall can offer a cleaner supporting picture without changing the evening's character.
Know when to retake
Sharpening does not reliably repair motion blur. If the face lacks detail, save the scene as a memory and take your main profile portrait in better light. A clear photograph matters more than forcing every favourite setting into your profile.
