Choose a dry, safe position
Try a covered entrance, a bright window or a café where photography is welcome. Watch for wet floors and protect the phone from water. Keep the face clearly lit even if the background feels moody.
Make two useful frames
- Take a close portrait under shelter.
- Add a wider frame with a small amount of weather context.
- Check the lens for droplets.
- Review sharpness in the dimmer light.
A wet street in the background can explain the day without requiring an umbrella to obscure your face. If using one, tilt it only as far as remains comfortable and practical.
Avoid forcing the mood
Heavy dark filters can hide the expression and make skin look dull. Keep the edit gentle and choose the picture that represents you clearly. A rainy-day supporting image works best beside a straightforward portrait with different light and context.
