Compare the person's scale
Reduce the image to phone size. If the first impression is only a building or beach, try a crop that brings you forward without eliminating all sense of place.
Choose a representative memory
- Use a recent picture with a clear expression.
- Avoid several nearly identical destination shots.
- Check that the caption does not imply you live there.
- Balance travel with ordinary local life.
A candid street portrait from a trip may work better than a distant photograph in front of an iconic monument. It gives the viewer a person and a setting together.
Avoid a lifestyle exaggeration
A holiday is a real part of your life, but it need not dominate the whole profile. Do not use generated destinations to suggest trips you took. Choose a set that gives someone a realistic sense of what spending time with you might look like.
